Since MJR Events was created back in the summer of 2014, we have organised over 40 trade shows across Norfolk and Suffolk. From wedding fairs to baby shows and even a summer theatre production at the prestigious Thurning Hall in North Norfolk, we have delivered a range of events attracting thousands of visitors.
Our launch event was at The Forum for The Stunning Spring Wedding Fair back in March 2015. We hold biannual wedding fairs at The Forum in Norwich. This show is our flagship wedding fair attracting up to 50 wedding suppliers. Exhibitors range from Norfolk wedding venues to photographers, videographers to make up artists, quirky photo booths and decor galore. We literally have everything under one roof and outside too, for couples to plan their wedding. The range of suppliers caters for the variety of styles that brides and grooms are looking for. From traditional to the luxurious, rustic to boho, as the venue is not a wedding venue itself, we can cater for everyone.
In 2017, we took over The Wedding Prom & Party Show. It was originally held at Sprowston Manor Hotel in Norwich and then moved to The Holiday Inn Norwich-North.
In 2018, we took over the well established Kings Lynn Wedding Festival at The Corn Exchange in Kings Lynn. This show takes over the whole of the Corn Exchange. It is jammed packed full of exhibitors. This show is so busy, we have been sold out months before the show. With over 45 exhibitors showcasing what they offer and over 150 brides, it’s always a popular wedding fair.
2018 was a busy year also launching The Kimberley Hall Wedding Fair near Wymondham. Kimberley Hall is an unrivalled exclusive venue situated in outstanding countryside. The fairs here always sell out highlighting over 40 of the regions best wedding suppliers helping couples to create their dream wedding.
Along the way, we have also helped other wedding venues to showcase their facilities. We have hosted shows at The Oaksmere which is a boutique hotel in Suffolk, The Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds, The Park Hotel in Diss, Wingfield Barns in the depths of the Suffolk countryside, Caistor Hall Hotel just outside Norwich and The Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds.
In 2019, we were approached by Sprowston Manor Hotel to take over their wedding fairs in Norwich. Delivering three wedding shows there per annum, we have certainly been kept busy.
Before COVID played havoc with the world, we had our annual wedding fairs – The Kings Lynn Wedding Festival, The Kimberley Hall Wedding Fair and The Stunning Spring Wedding Fair at The Forum in Norwich. Unfortunately, due to government restrictions, our remaining shows for 2020 has to be cancelled and/or postponed.
In January 2020 we took over the prestigious Christmas Fair at Holt Hall. The show sold out for exhibitor stands within a matter of weeks! Unfortunately, we had to postpone the fair until 2021. Instead, we decided to launch an Online Christmas Marketplace to support our suppliers and to encourage people to shop local and support small business during these turbulent times.
The certainty of Holt Hall which was our venue for our Christmas Fair, has been very uncertain. It is a council run field centre in North Norfolk. Therefore, it led us to diversify and rebrand. Norfolk Artisan Fair was the result!
With the post Christmas lockdown, we were forced to cancel our January, February and March ’21 shows.
So what else is on the horizon for us in 2021? We have lots of shows planned for the rest of the year and in the meantime, we are busy supporting our exhibitors via social media and our blog. If you haven’t liked and followed our pages yet, then click here to visit our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Finally, we have recently taken on a new luxurious wedding venue in Norfolk. The Worstead Estate Wedding Fair will be in October 2021 and we can’t wait to get back to it!
